Vegiheal is a made up word that comes from vegetable, I (the pronoun – not the organ) and healing.

The name includes our basic philosophy… Eat To Live. We believe each of us is personally responsible for our own health and the health of the world. Great health is within our control. We can and should use healing professionals to advise and assist us in being healthy and feeling good. They only advise and assist, though. You must be in charge.

No one is better suited for this task, no one else knows exactly how you feel! No one else has absolute control over how your body is treated. You control what goes into your mouth and what your life experience is. Whether you want to admit it or not. Other things effect you (fire, famine, flood, the devil, disease, death), but you always make the only important decision, how you deal with it.

Eat what’s right for you, everyday, to live. You’ll have to spend the time to find out what helps your whole body to feel good, not just your taste buds or your need for comforting. You’ll have to learn what needs to be healed and what foods and herbs help provide that healing.

Exercise modestly, everyday, to live. Move it or lose it. Be consistent enough and you are rewarded with strength.

Meditate, everyday to live.Pay attention to your breathing or think of nothing, not prayer or chanting. Connection with the spiritual is available at will through honest attention to quiet and stillness.

So, why VEGIHEAL?VEG’ is for vegetables because for most of us, things that grow from the earth are the only foods that nourish and heal our bodies. ‘ I’ is for I as in id or ego, because we are individually responsible for feeling good. You are responsible for your health and wellbeing, not your doctor, spouse, friend, acupuncturist, attendant, no one but you. HEAL is for health because we each deserve and can have great health. We can and ought to feel good.

With attention to what we eat and how we live our lives, we can have good health. We can feel good and eat to live.

Eat to live. That means starting a program that will gradually move you to the things that grow from the earth that will bring balance and harmony to your physical body. And, NOT CONSUMING ANYTHING ELSE.

That’s a narrow path. I am still on it. The closer I get to my goal the healthier I feel. You’ll hear from all types on the VEGIHEAL site. We’ve got strict vegetarians that don’t even eat grains or cooked food. We’ve even got a few flesh eaters with questions and comments about their experiences with vegetarianism.

You’ll get wholistic information, with special FOCUS Topics every month. The FOCUS Topics may be about anything that helps you with the BIG THREE (3) –

Eat to live, everyday

How to approach, develop and maintain a vegetarian lifestyle suited to your changing needs. Every time something goes in your mouth, it’s an opportunity to feel better. Your body will reward you for wholistic choices.

Exercise moderately everyday

The move it moderately or lose it philosophy, expounded upon ad infinitem!

Meditate twice a day

Yes, do it twice a day, everyday. This is not prayer or chanting. Believe me, you’ll still need prayer, chanting or whatever the honored ritual of your religion is. This is clearing your mind for greatness. Being still, paying attention to your breathing or thinking of nothing. I’d reach my goal if I could do it 20 minutes twice a day. It helps if you could even manage 20 seconds twice a day. 20 seconds today, 40 seconds tomorrow. By the time you’re 90 you’ll be meditating 30 minutes twice a day! (Everyone will think you’re sleeping, you’ll be strengthening. They’ll have to wait until they’re 90 to get the inheritance. Hah!)

We approach information on "The Big 3" (eat, exercise & meditate) comprehensively. For instance, next month’s FOCUS is on backyard and flower pot gardening. Yes, the best thing to put in your mouth is something that you’ve watched/helped grow.

The other thing that the stuff-you-put-in-your-mouth MUST DO is to leave your body in a timely and efficient way. That brings us to this month’s FOCUS – cleansing.

Not to be confused with taking laxatives, cleansing can be spiritual, physical, religious, medicinal, political, you name it. We have articles in our library on the following cleansing topics. We’ll add more as often as possible. Just click on "CLEANSING" to browse through our data on this important topic.
